Laser and visiting
Does laser hair removal hurt?
Most people describe laser hair removal as a quick snap or a warm flick against the skin. Comfort varies by person and area, and areas with dense hair or thin skin, like the bikini line, can feel more intense. It often feels easier as your course goes on and hair thins out.
How many laser sessions do I need?
Most people need a course of sessions, because hair grows in cycles and laser only affects hairs that are actively growing. As a general industry range, many people need somewhere around 6 to 10 sessions, but this varies. Your specialist will recommend a plan after assessing your skin and hair. Read more in how many sessions you need.
How should I prepare for laser hair removal?
Shave the area the day before or the morning of your session, and stop waxing, plucking and epilating about four weeks beforehand. Avoid sun, solariums and fake tan on the area, pause strong skincare actives, and tell us about any medications. Our before and aftercare checklist covers every step.
Can I shave before laser hair removal?
Yes, shaving is the recommended way to prepare. It removes hair above the skin while leaving the root in the follicle, which is what the laser targets. Don’t wax or pluck, as that removes the root.
How long does laser hair removal take?
It depends on the area. Small areas like the upper lip or underarms can take just a few minutes of treatment time, while larger areas like full legs or the back take longer. Your first visit usually runs longer because it includes a consultation and patch test.
Is laser hair removal suitable for men?
Yes, we offer laser hair removal for men, including popular areas like the back, shoulders, chest and neck. Male hair is often denser, so some areas may need more sessions. See laser hair removal for men.
Can darker skin tones have laser hair removal?
Darker skin tones can often be treated with appropriate settings. Suitability depends on your skin tone, hair colour and the device settings, so we assess your skin and hair and usually do a patch test before starting. Read more about laser and skin types.
What technology do you use?
We use Candela laser technology for laser hair removal. Your specialist chooses settings for your skin tone, hair colour and treatment area, and adjusts them as your course progresses.
How often should laser appointments be booked?
Laser sessions are typically booked around 4 to 8 weeks apart, depending on the area. Faster-growing areas like the face are often treated closer together than body areas. Your specialist will recommend the right interval for you.
What should I avoid after laser hair removal?
As general guidance, avoid heat, saunas, spas, hot showers, strenuous exercise and swimming pools for 24 to 48 hours. Protect the area with SPF 50+, avoid tanning for at least two weeks, and shave rather than wax between sessions. Call the clinic if you notice blistering or anything that doesn’t settle.

What is the Deluxe Deep Cleanse Facial?
It is the clinic’s thorough cleansing facial, designed to clear surface oil, dead skin and congestion. The steps are tailored to your skin type on the day. It suits most people who want clearer, fresher-feeling skin.
Will I break out after a deep cleanse facial?
Some people notice a few small spots in the days afterwards, particularly after extractions or if it is their first facial in a while. This usually settles quickly. Keeping your routine gentle and avoiding touching your face helps.
Does microdermabrasion hurt?
Most people find microdermabrasion comfortable. It usually feels like a light scratching or vibrating sensation, with a gentle pulling from the suction. We adjust the intensity if an area feels too sensitive.
Is there downtime after microdermabrasion?
Downtime is usually minimal. Skin may look pink or feel slightly tight for a few hours, similar to mild windburn. Most people go straight back to their normal day.
What is Dermasound?
Dermasound is an ultrasound-based facial treatment. It uses high-frequency vibration to gently exfoliate and clean the skin, then helps skincare products absorb. It is non-invasive and uses no blades or abrasives.
Does Dermasound hurt?
No, most people feel only a light tingle, buzz or gentle warmth. The skin is kept damp throughout, and the tip glides across the surface. Many clients find it relaxing.
Will my hair grow back thicker after dermaplaning?
No, dermaplaning does not make hair grow back thicker or darker. It removes fine vellus hair at the surface without changing the follicle. The hair may feel slightly blunt as it regrows, but it returns as the same fine hair.
Does dermaplaning hurt?
Dermaplaning is usually comfortable. Most people feel a light scraping or brushing sensation as the blade moves across the skin. There should be no pain.
Does LED light therapy use UV light?
No, LED light therapy for skin uses visible light, not UV. It does not tan the skin. You should still wear sunscreen day to day.
Does LED light therapy hurt?
No, most people feel nothing at all, or just a slight sense of warmth. There is no contact with the skin. Eye protection is worn because the light is bright.
