Which areas women most often treat
Underarms, bikini and legs are the most common areas women book, followed closely by the face. Underarms are small and quick, and dark underarm hair is often one of the most responsive areas. Legs take longer because of their size, and many women start with half legs (usually lower legs) before deciding whether to add the upper legs.
For the bikini area, there are three common levels. A bikini line treats the hair visible outside standard underwear or swimwear. A Brazilian treats most of the hair at the front and between, often leaving a small strip or shape if you want one. A Hollywood treats all of it. We will talk you through which option matches what you are after, and you can change your mind as the course goes on.

What happens at your appointment
Choose your areas
Pick the areas you want treated when you book, or ask us at consultation if you are unsure which bikini option or leg length suits you.
Consultation and patch test
We check your medical history, skin and hair, and usually patch test before your first full treatment so we can see how your skin responds.
Shave the day before
Shave each area, usually the day before. Avoid waxing, plucking or epilating for several weeks beforehand, and skip fake tan and sun on the treatment areas.
Treatment and aftercare
Each area is treated with its own settings. Afterwards you avoid heat, tight clothing on freshly treated bikini skin, and sun, then return at the interval your specialist recommends.

Hormones, facial hair and what affects your results
Hormones play a real role in women’s hair growth, and they are one reason results vary between people. Changes around pregnancy, menopause or conditions such as PCOS can bring new hair growth, particularly on the chin, jawline and stomach line. Laser can still reduce hair in these areas for many people, but new hair may appear over time and occasional maintenance sessions are common.

Getting the most from each session
Consistent timing makes the biggest difference. Hair grows in cycles, and sessions are typically spaced around 4 to 8 weeks apart depending on the area, with facial hair often on the shorter end and legs on the longer end. Skipping or delaying sessions can mean the laser misses hairs at the right growth stage.
Between sessions, shave rather than wax, pluck or use epilators, because the laser needs the root in place to work. Keep the treated areas out of the sun and away from fake tan, especially before a bikini or leg session in summer. - Shave the area the day before, or on the day
- No waxing, plucking or threading for 4 weeks beforehand
- Avoid sun exposure and fake tan for 2 weeks beforehand
- Tell us about any medication, skin condition or pregnancy
Aftercare
- Mild redness or warmth usually settles within hours
- Use SPF 50+ and avoid direct sun for 2 weeks
- Skip heat, saunas, pools and intense exercise for 24 to 48 hours
- Pause strong actives such as retinoids for a few days

Women’s laser questions
What is the difference between a Brazilian and a Hollywood?
A Hollywood treats all hair in the bikini area, while a Brazilian treats most of it and can leave a small strip or shape at the front. A bikini line only treats hair outside underwear or swimwear. We confirm your choice before treatment starts.
Can I have laser hair removal during my period?
Yes, you can usually have treatment during your period, including bikini areas if you use a tampon or menstrual cup. Some people find the skin more sensitive at that time of the month. If you would rather move your appointment, just let us know.
Can I have laser hair removal while pregnant?
Laser hair removal is generally not performed during pregnancy, as a precaution. Please tell us if you are pregnant or trying to conceive, and we will pause or plan your course around it. Speak with your GP or healthcare professional if you have questions.
Which area responds fastest for women?
Underarms often respond well because the hair is usually dark and coarse. The bikini area also tends to respond well for the same reason. Facial hair can take longer and may need maintenance, especially where hormones are involved.
Should I shave or wax before my appointment?
